Accommodation

South Africa has been favored by nature with one of the most temperate climates on the African continent, and can be visited comfortably any time.

During the main hunting season from April to October, the days are generally warm to hot and evenings cool to cold. Rain gear in not really necessary and laundry is done on a daily basis - therefore avoid overloading your baggage.

Summer

Over much of South Africa, summer ((late November to March) is characterized by hot, sunny weather - often with afternoon thunderstorms that clear quickly, leaving a warm, earthy, uniquely African smell in the air.

Autumn

Autumn (fall) in South Africa (April to May) offers in some ways the best weather. Very little rain falls over the whole country, and it is warm but not too hot, getting colder as the season progresses.

Winter

Winter in South Africa (June to September) is cooler and drier, sunny, crisp days and cold nights. So it's a good idea to bring warm clothes. The hot, humid KwaZulu-Natal coast offer fantastic winter weather with sunny, warmish days and virtually no wind or rain.
Ideal for hiking and outdoor pursuits. Because vegetation is less dense, and thirsty animals congregate around water sources, winter is also the best time for wildlife-watching.
The high mountains of the Drakensberg in KwaZulu-Natal usually get snow in winter.

Spring

Spring (September to November). This time of the year promises great birding - the grass is still short and the weather mild.
